• 2008年6月24日，环境保护部发布《车用压燃式、气体燃料点燃式发动机与汽车车载诊断（OBD）系统技术要求》，并宣布此要求从2008年7月1日起实施。
• 2009年12月1日，环境保护部2009第64号公告，发布国家环境保护标准《轻型汽车车载诊断（OBD）系统管理技术规范》（HJ500-2009），自2010年2月1日起实施。

• 2007年6月29日颁布的715/2007指令为欧5和欧6的”主要联合决议”(Main Co-decision).

美国

CARB (California Air Resource Board)

• 1985年立法，1988年开始实施，后被称为OBD-I。
• 1989年立法，针对1994–1996及以后生产的车型，即OBD-II。
• 1996年12月12日，CARB批准了对1968.1的修订，提出了对1994年后车辆的OBD要求。
